COLORADO SPRINGS, CO — Taco lovers and tequila enthusiasts alike are invited to explore Downtown Colorado Springs this May during the inaugural Tacos & Tequila Passport, running May 15-31 in Downtown Colorado Springs.
Co-presented by Side Dish with Schniper and sponsored by SoCo Insider, the free digital passport features exclusive taco and tequila cocktail pairings at 10 participating Downtown restaurants and bars — including several surprising spots guests may never expect to find standout tacos.

To kick off the event, Downtown Colorado Springs will host a Tacos & Tequila Passport Launch Party from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, May 14 at Golden Hour in the Mining Exchange Hotel at 8 S. Nevada Ave. Guests can enjoy live music, win door prizes and get an exclusive first taste by ordering Golden Hour’s featured taco and tequila cocktail pairing a day before the passport officially launches.
From elevated street tacos paired with handcrafted margaritas to unexpected chef-driven creations alongside smoky tequila cocktails, the passport encourages guests to discover new favorites while supporting Downtown businesses. Featured pairings include offerings showcasing both traditional flavors and inventive twists from some of Downtown’s most popular culinary destinations.
“This event really came directly from the people,” said Kelsee Swenn, Marketing Manager for Downtown Partnership of Colorado Springs. “After last summer’s Weenies & ’Tinis event, participants made it very clear they wanted tacos and tequila next. People asked and we’re giving them tacos and tequila.”
The mobile-friendly passport is free to use and designed to encourage guests to explore Downtown Colorado Springs throughout the two-week promotion while discovering new restaurants, bars and cocktail experiences.
